It was another good week on the field for the NFL. There were winners and there were loser; some were more clear than others and that's what Weekend Warriors is here for, to state the obvious and not so obvious points.
Best Team of the Week
From being killed by the Kansas City Chiefs to a couple weeks later killing the Chicago Bears by a score of 51-23, the New England Patriots are your team of the week. To give credit where credit is due, the Patriots have found life and are back to being a good football team. By the way, honorable mention to Tom Brady who could literally do no wrong, no seriously, it seemed like almost all his incompletions were a product of dropped passes.
Worst Team of the Week
After a disastrous 2013-2014 season, people were willing to write off that season for Atlanta. I think it is safe to say that the Atlanta Falcons are pretenders. For those who missed the 9:30am EST time kickoff (which I like a lot), the Falcons blew a 21-point lead to a Lions team who were more banged up than *insert joke here*. The Falcons are talented but at some point we as a society have to look at this team and say that they are not good.
Best Player of the Week
I know this is a passing league but Big Ben Roethlisberger showed everyone why he has two rings. It honestly looked like he saw no defense as he threw for 522 passing yards, 6 passing touchdowns, and no interceptions, completing 82 percent of his passes. To get an idea of how amazing that is, the Washington Redskins only had all purpose 409 yards as a team. By the way, honorable mention to Andrew Luck who was slinging the rock as well with 400 yards (2 interceptions) but it was a good performance.
Worst Player of the Week:
How do I look at Geno Smith's game and say with a straight face "you know what that Geno Smith guy is pretty good." after last week. This guy had 5 yards passing and 3 interceptions, only threwing the ball eight times before Michael Vick came in. Here at Fan-I Sports we do not insult athletes and eat them alive but please do better Geno Smith.
Game of the Week
I really did like the Detroit Lions vs Atlanta Falcons game and not for the Lions comeback. First I liked the 9:30am eastern time start and secondly that England crowd is amazing. For any football fanbase who doesn't have an NFL team but wants one so bad, look at England who cheers regardless of the product on the field. English fans cheer unlike of some fanbases who complain that the team they watch at the local stadium are not good (Looking at you Toronto with the Bills in Toronto series)
Surprise of the Week
I honestly really thought the Cardinals were unfortunately going to Fizzle out due to being decimated by injuries. However, they are still rolling and stole one from the Philadelphia Eagles last Sunday. I really hope that the Cardinals keep this up because they look like if they can get all there guys back healthy, they can be a legitimate Superbowl contender.
One last thought, look ahead to next week to see that Arizona Cardinals vs. Dallas Cowboys are going to square off and that should be a good game, maybe game of the week.
