Ronald Roberts named to D-League All-Star Game

Much talk has been made about the Raptors recent winning streak. The North Side has been buzzing about the Toronto Raptors play, and as of right now, things are looking up Toronto Raptors.

Just a tad Northwest of Toronto, the Raptors 905 have been a tearing it up for the city of Mississauga. The Raptors 905 are currently enjoying a 6-game winning streak and their latest win, was a Friday night 132-127 victory over the Delaware 87ers. There have been numerous bright spots for the 905 lately, but one bright spot in particular for the 905’s current win streak is Ronald Roberts. The Sevens had no answer for the problem that is Ronald Roberts on the glass. Roberts had 27 points, 21 points and did this all without picking up a foul.

Ronald Roberts has been amazing all season long. For the season, Roberts has been averaging 18.7 points, and 12.7 rebounds per game - top 20 for points per game and second in rebounds per game. The best part, he is doing that at 6’8 playing the power forward position. Roberts has become the top NBA D-League prospect and now can add being a 2016 NBA D-League All Star to his mantle.

For me this story about how the Raptors 905 are playing some inspiring basketball and Roberts is a big part of that. The 905 are on a huge tear and one constant is that Roberts sets the tone for the team. Not only does he fill the cup and get on the glass, you can count on Roberts to bring his intensity and energy win or lose. Now he can represent what he and the 905 are all about at the D-League All-star game and that is something special for the city of Mississauga.

You can cheer on the Ronald Roberts at 2016 NBA D-League All-Star Game at the Ricoh Coliseum. That game will be on Saturday, February 13 in Toronto at 2:00 p.m.
