After Jon Jones took home the interim light heavyweight title in his win against Ovince Saint Preux, there was clear evidence that Jon Jones still hates Daniel Cormier.
Well, he will get his shot to take his frustration out on Cormier on July 9, 2016. It was announced Wednesday morning that Cormier vs Jones will be the main event of the evening for UFC 200. For Jones this will be a quick turnaround as he is literally days removed from a fight against a top 10 opponent and has yet to be cleared. Jones has tweeted out he is alright, therefore this may be a non-issue.
Plus, The UFC is a lot of things but one thing they're not and thats false advertisers. Expect Jon Jones to be ready come July 9th.
However, one of the things the UFC may be is desperate. Dana white and company have been taking a butt kicking in the media for the pulling of Connor McGregor from UFC 200 and one would think that this is an emergency public relations move. This is especially given the fact that 3 months (technically 2 months and 13 days) is a very short time for Jones and Dana white admitted Jones looked rusty against Cormier. In other words, Jon Jones is technically being thrown to the wolves.
Nevertheless, this has been one of the most anticipated rematches in years. With this edition, UFC 200 is shaping up to be a stacked card.
