The 2014-15 Kentucky Wildcats has became the 4th school to go through the regular season 30-0, joining the 2013-14 Wichita State Shockers, 1990-91 UNLV Running Rebels, and the 1978-79 Indiana State Sycamores, that included the great Larry Bird.
One thing all three of those teams have in common is none of them won the National Championship that season. I think Kentucky has a far better chance to win the title but you never know in college basketball. I actually don't like the idea of going into the big dance undefeated because you have yet to feel defeat, which could help you in the long run.
One thing I can credit to the Wildcats on is that they are battle tested, and last night's game against Georgia is a perfect example. Georgia was up 9 on the Wildcats with 9 minutes remaining in the game. Georgia did a great job on the Wildcats forcing some turnovers, scoring inside against the trees, and just making some big plays, but the Wildcats made more down the stretch. The Wildcats went on a 25-7 run to finish that game, while the Bulldogs wen 3-9 from the field, 2-6 from the line, and committed 3 turnovers.
I'm still skeptical on whether or not they will finish with a National Title and 0 losses only because they have had these scares and these scares are coming against sub-par competition. I still think Duke could beat them, I think Virginia can beat them, even an underrated team like Villanova could bump them, but no matter what, you will have to play a perfect game. If you get up on them by nine, put your foot on their throat and finish them off. The fact that Kentucky is a great defensive team, is the reason why they are able to comeback and close out these tough games.
