Not really sure what's going on up in Philly. For some reason, the Eagles are set to trade Lesean McCoy to the Bills for Kiko Alonso. The trade can not be finalize until next Tuesday and McCoy's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, has tweeted that the trade is not official but all media outlets have said that this is a done deal.
This picture is worth a trillion words. The Eagles currently have 8 players on the roster that attended Oregon, all of which played under Chip Kelly. Kiko will make 9 whenever this blockbuster trade is made official. Eagles owner Jefferey Laurie should think how much power he want Chip to have cause, if keep making decisions like this, the Eagles are going to be at the the bottom of the barrel with a bunch of former Ducks .
Shady isn't old (27 in July), he led the league in rushing in 2014, and has rushed for the most yards since 2010. I can't think of any reason to why the Eagles would trade away a very key component in their offense. Shady best years has come within Chip Kelly system, another reason why this trade doesn't make sense. Then you trade him for a linebacker, not even attempting to replace the potent running game you just traded away. No disrespect to Kiko, who won the 2012 Rookie of the Year, but he doesn't equal up to Shady.
I thought releasing Deseasn Jackson last off-season was a stupid move, but I think this is even dumber. I'm sure the entire city of Philly is ready to pack Chip bags and send him back to Oregon because he is taking this franchise in the wrong direction.
