After being ejected from Wednesday's game, Michael Pineda has been suspended for 10 games. I think this is a suitable punishment but that hasn't been the argument of folks, instead the debate has been about whether or not pine tar should be allowed. Players in the league have said that "everyone uses it" but it is also one of the many unwritten rules in baseball to not use a lot of it. I agree with the notion that everybody use it because you can see it on players bats, hats, and helmets but in the glove or on the hands seems to be illegal. I don't have enough knowledge on the substance to say whether or not it should be legal, but I don't think the MLB should change how they police it. It hasn't been that much of a problem in the past and it's not now.
The Bruins are 1 game away from eliminating the Red Wings and advancing to the Eastern conference semifinals. Bruins goalie, Tuuka Rask has been lights out this series, with 1 shutout in game 3. So far, that has been the story of this series, which team will have the best goal keeping. So far, Red Wings goalie, Jimmy Howard, has been the inferior one, allowing 6 goals, and saving less than 95% of the shots he faced. In game 4 though, Jonas Gustavsson started in the cage for the Red Wings but he allowed the game winning goal by Jarome Ignila in overtime. If the Red Wings want to extend this series, they are going to have to put more points on the board because they obviously can not rely on the defense.
We all knew that this years playoffs would be wide open, but I don't think anyway expected this much. Both Pacers and Thunder are trailing in their respective series, while the Bulls and Rockets are gong on the road down 2-0. Even though I didn't expect these outcomes, the Grizzlies-Thunder series is the only one that surprises me. Reason why is because even though the Grizzlies are known for dragging out a series, I didn't think they would have a 2-1 lead after 3 games, winning in OT twice. The Grizzlies haven't necessarily stopped KD but he hasn't finished like we would expect him too. I still see the Thunder winning the series in 6 games. As for the other series, I see 2 sweeps and Hawks in 6.
