Lousiville and Indiana played a very entertaining game but the Cardinals dominated the final 10 minutes of the game, beating the Hooisers 94-74 in Madison Square Garden. If you are a fan of transition basketball than this was a good game to watch. 3 of Louisville's players finished the game in double-digits, Chris Jones (24), Terry Rozier (26), and Montrezl Harrell (21), 2 guards and a forward. Jones and Rozier make up a very good backcourt, and if they can do this consistently together, Louisville can be potential Final Four team. I think they are a good team but I'm thinking about how good they really are. I am a big fan of Montrezl Harrell though, I think he is the player of the year. He currently averages 16 and 9 right now while shooting 61% from the field. Harrell reminds of Larry Johnson because of dominance. He is a man in the post and uses his 6'8 240lb frame to bully dudes in the paint. Grandmama was better shooter than Harrell but their dominance in the paint is similar in my opinion. The Cardinals will play Kentucky December 27th in their home gym. A few people have told me that the Wildcats will go undefeated, but before they meet Louisville they will play both UNC and UCLA; Louisville will more than likely be undefeated. This will be a great test for both teams.
Very happy to see athletes speaking on this issue. Lebron James and Kobe Bryant are two of the biggest athletes, not just basketball players, in the world and they were apart of many professional to join in on police brutality. LeBron James yesterday wore his "I Can't Breathe" T-shirt during the Net-Cavs pregame, along with Kyrie Irving, Kevin Garnett, Jarrett Jack, and Derron Williams. I said that this would need to happen and it started with the Rams receivers in the NFL and now it is trickling into the NBA. Commissioner Silver has said that no players that have participated will be fined but would like them to wear NBA pre-game attire, I say, Let's keep the momentum going fellas.
Cam Newton will more than likely not play this weekend but he will be able to play football again. I think the most important news is that he is still living. Sometimes we get caught in criticizing these players so much that it can sometimes lead one to think that they don't care about them but I don't think anyone wishes this on any player. Cam injured his lower back, suffering from the same injury as Bryce Petty and Tony Romo. We would like to send our best regards to Cam and hope to see him back on the field soon.
