It's official, college basketball is back! Tuesday night we saw top teams go against; well top teams. 4th ranked Duke vs 19 ranked Michigan St followed by 5th ranked Kansas and No 1 ranked Kentucky. It was great basketball all night. With the big time debut of the likes of Jahlil Okafor, and seeing the new "Platoon System" for Calipari and the Wildcats.

It's very refreshing to see a big fella in college with a low post game this early in his basketball career. Okafor will be the #1 pick, no matter what happens with Duke but I think he will be able to carry the Blue Devils back to the promise land. (AP Photo)

If you're a college hoops fan, you've been waiting for this since March Madness came to an exciting end. To be able to see four HOF coaches in back-to-back games in the same arena in back-to-back games, is something that shouldn't be taken lightly. Although, Duke ran away with the game with a 81-71 victory, it was everything you wanted to see between two great programs. Duke played great pressure defense, which for a while the Tom Izzo lead Spartans handled pretty well, but Duke's raw talent was just too much.

12 players scored for the Wildcats but Karl-Anthony Towns was the biggest standout. He scored 9 points, grabbed 8 boards, and accounted for 4 of the Wildcats 12 blocked shots. Due to the platoon system that Calipari is running, his numbers won't be Wooden award worthy, but his talents will surely have him in the convo. (AP Photo)

And for Bill Self's Jayhawks, they pretty much struggled from get go to keep up with Kentucky's bigs and something that Kentucky hasn't had in a long time; experience. Kentucky has a starting lineup consisting of 2 juniors, 2 sophomore, and a really talented freshman in Karl-Anthony Towns. However, regardless of the blowout by Kentucky and the slight work Duke made of Michigan St, I'm more than excited for college hoops.

It's gonna be a long season and I'm not ready to make a quick decision of how the season will go based off of one night and you shouldn't either. Just be patient and enjoy the roller coaster which is NCAA basketball.
