Last night the New Jersey Devils extended their season by winning 3-2 in overtime to fight off elimination and will face the Florida Panthers in a game 7. So I’m Saying There’s a Game 7… Great or is it. Let’s think about this one, does anyone have the New Jersey Devils or The Florida Panthers winning The Stanley Cup? Does anyone want to see a particular player in this series? Are Florida and New Jersey die hard hockey cites that the NHL wants to advertise? If you answered yes to any of the questions then you must be a Diehard Devils or Panthers fan or just an optimistic person. I mean it was quality hockey to watch but it is lacking relevance.
However on the other side of the coin there are some interesting facts in this series like the fact that Florida has gotten to the playoffs for the first time in what seems like forever. The Florida Panthers have historically been terrible and the state of Florida should be celebrating. Also Thursday could be hall of Fame goaltender Martin Brodeur’s last game ever and it will be tough for New Jersey to see him retire or go to another team despite the fact he had a less than stellar year for the Devils.
Even though I don’t really feel that either of these teams will make a run a go deep in the playoffs but who knows. There is always a punchers chance for any team especially in the NHL, where miracles happen the most. If you don’t believe that miracles happen most in the NHL, ask the Vancouver Cunucks if they thought the 8th seed LA Kings were going to knock them out of the playoffs.
